About JE-Games studio

JE-Games studio: “A long, but satisfying journey.”

The initial JE-Games Studio website was created on the 7th of July 2005, and revised in 2009, in order to promote my games. My name is Johnny Ebsen and I was born in Denmark some time in the late sixties. I'm married with a Swede with Polish parents and we live in Germany (it even confuses me from time to time). We have 4 children and they make sure that I stay on my toes.

I finished my education as a commercial pilot in the beginning of the 90's, but after a few years working in all sort of jobs I decided to do something completely different. I started an education as a laboratory technician and after finishing, I got a job at a university working with HPLC/MS equipment. I got into contact with the people selling this kind of equipment in Denmark and somehow ended up getting hired by that company as a technician.

A couple of years later I was transfered to the mother division in Germany and this is were I still work. I work as a support engineer taking care of daily support and internal training of the field engineers.

Since the age of ~10, together with friends I was involved in regular gaming and the development of a strategic board game of gigantic proportions. The game was a modern war game with a game board that was made of cardboard boxes and it measured an increadible 6x5 meters, each player had around 3000 playing pieces and the game board and the playing pieces were all drawn by hand. Time to play was measured in month not hours, but most important, we had a lot of fun.

Since arriving in Germany I have started creating German style board games as I'm in the middle of the largest board game market in the world and the German board game scene is so lively and really inspiring that I could not leave it.
